Today we visited the MEF International School in Izmir. Twice a year they have a sort of carnival for all of the families and friends of students at this school (1st-13th grade). Currently, they do not have a music program of any kind at the school - However they would love to start one, and we used this opportunity to hopefully jumpstart it successfully!
Augsburg students had several areas where they demonstrated instruments and performed in small groups including a percussion ensemble, woodwind quintet, brass ensemble, and jazz combo. After a lunch in the school cafeteria (and some threatening drops of rain) the Concert Band & Jazz Ensemble both performed outside in the school courtyard.
