Journey to Troy
We departed Istanbul early this morning and traveled the European side of Turkey along the Sea of Marmara to the Gallipoli peninsula (an area full of history during WWI). We then took a ferry across the Dardanelles, a narrow straight which connects the Sea of Marmara to the Aegean Sea, to reach Asia Minor and the city of Canakkale -- followed by perhaps the highlight of the day -- a visit to Troy!
